Port Lincoln Violence Against Women – Domestic and Family Violence Action Group are seeking Port Lincoln organisations and businesses\’ support in raising awareness about domestic violence, whilst also raising funds for White Ribbon Day 2014. They are looking for support by participating in a Window Display Competition running from Monday November 17th to Friday December 6th 2014.
Winners will be announced on Wednesday 10th December.
Aim: Raising awareness about domestic violence in the community, promoting the view that it is not acceptable in our town and to raise funds for White Ribbon Day 2014.
Rules: 1) Each participating business can be supplied with a few decorations and contribute others that fit the theme of White Ribbon Day. 2) Quotes may be used in display but must come from White Ribbon website whiteribbon.org.au 3) Life stories used in displays must de-identify person and be anonymous in character. 4) Businesses deemed not compliant with any rule may be asked to remove display immediately by organising committee, with any funds raised still surrendered to donation.
Winning: Businesses to be provided with money box, to which any member of the community may vote by donating. Boxes will be collected on 8th December. Business or organisation with highest amount will win. All funds collected will be donated to White Ribbon.
