Local farmers are pleased with a good start to the season with crops germinating evenly, good soil moisture and no significant pest issues. Good rainfall right before the June long weekend allowed farmers to spray out early weeds so their crops emerged clean. With potential for farmers to have a bumber year we now need to cross our fingers for some good rainfall in August and September to keep the outlook prospers.
